To be tall or? (att vara lång - eller vad?)
jo, ibland undrar jag verkligen över vad "samhället" och "kulturen" gör med alla oss som "sticker ut" på det ena eller andra sättet...
Denna konversation - inte otypisk - utspelade sig under lunchen
och eftersom vi pratade på engelska, skriver jag det på engelska.
Met a quite tall Dutch woman, blonde, beautifull, as she seemed to be over 180cm but was wearing long trousers covering her boots I couldn't resist but asked her jokingly how high boots she was wearing. (Being a "tall sister" at least 10cm taller it's quite OK if I ask it now and then... *grin*)
She answered me she didn't wear heels;
No? I do sometimes I answered, just not at work.
ok. sometimes she said, but I'm too tall to wear heels.
( -now this is something people shouldn't say to me - *lol* )
With quite some emotion I said - Now, that is NoT a problem!
oh? she said
no - it is not YouR problem, it's the problem of the people in the surrounding, but not yours!
Then she laughed and said -You're right!
Varför ska vi förminska oss? vara mindre kvinnliga? rent ut sagt "stympa oss" för att andra inte klarar av att vi nu en gång för alla är OlikA?!?

...och jag förstår precis vad du menar - även om jag känner mig mer "stympad" i högklackat än vanliga skor, jag hör till den sorten som får så förbannat ont av dem...
